As an international leader in ocean shipping, Fednav relies on a network of specialized subsidiaries that operate in several key areas. These include shipowning, short- and long-term ship chartering, ice navigation services, stevedoring at our terminals, and logistics services.
As a pioneering presence in Canada’s Arctic for over 60 years, Fednav’s Arctic Operations and Projects is responsible for managing Fednav's mining and resupply transportation activities in the Arctic. Today, Fednav transports more than two million tonnes annually from remote Northern mines.
Fednav’s Shipowning and Technical Services Department oversees the technical management of Fednav’s owned fleet of close to 60 bulk carriers including its high ice class Arctic fleet, to ensure that all vessels are maintained and operated in line with Fednav’s best-in-class standards in a safe, environmentally friendly, and efficient manner.
